Welcome to this beautiful branch of the Seine! The Samoreau station offers kayaks single or double to explore the river and its stunning surroundings. For beginners, we recommend a minimum 2-hour trip paddling upstream on the right-hand side of the river, crossing carefully while watching for passing barges or boats. If you have children under 30 kg, bring your own life jacket.
Along your route, pass the magnificent Château de La Rivière and the chalet of Clos Bon Dieu, a brick house built by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World Expo and relocated to Thomery. Admire the port of Thomery, a charming village famous for its mansions and history linked to Chasselas grapes and Rosa Bonheur. If time allows, continue to Salle la Plage, a former early 1900s vacation spot with a guinguette and swimming area. Then turn back, cross carefully to the other riverbank, and paddle gently back to the starting point.
