Enjoy a day out on beautiful Fish Lake using high-quality equipment, and experience our lake from a new perspective. Kayaking is a very enjoyable and fun activity, best enjoyed together with friends and family. Beginners can comfortably try both SUP paddling and kayaking while still being close to shore. Kayaking is a fantastic and sustainable way to explore our amazing waterways and with KAYAKOMAT self-serve rentals you can easily access kayaks and SUPs any time of the day.
Local tips for exploring Fish Lake
- Hike around the lake or at many popular hikes along Highway 11
- Watch and listen to the loons as you silently move among them
- Travel to Nordegg, just a 5-minute drive away to enjoy the best pie in Alberta at the Miner’s Cafe, or take in the mine tour and learn about the history of the area.
- If you have brought your bicycle, take a tour on the Firesmart trails accessible from within the campground.

On the day of your booking, you will receive a code via email and SMS. Arrive at your KAYAKOMAT and unlock your gear. Inside you’ll find everything you need: PFD, paddles and sprayskirts. If it’s your first time out on the water, make sure you double check our safety tips.
Time to paddle!
Now you’re ready to go! Enjoy your time out on the water, and be sure to tag us @kayakomat on social media. When your rental time is finished, return your equipment, check that everything is clean and lock it back up.
