Looking for an adventure on the Garonne while exploring the treasures of the Fontet area? Located at the Nautical Base, our KAYAKOMAT station is the perfect starting point for discovering this paradise by kayak.
Kayak Routes:
- Relaxing Route: Fontet - La Réole (1h to 1h30)
- Start your calm journey from Fontet’s Halte Nautique towards the charming town of La Réole. Enjoy the green banks, wooded areas, and peaceful Garonne waters. This route is ideal for beginners and families, ending in La Réole, where you can explore its rich historical heritage.
- Adventure Route: Fontet - Meilhan-sur-Garonne (2h to 2h30)
- For those looking for a bit more action, head towards the perched village of Meilhan-sur-Garonne. Along the way, you’ll pass through wilder landscapes and have the chance to observe local wildlife. Stop at Meilhan to admire the view from the scenic viewpoint before heading back to Fontet.
Nearby Activities:
- Cycling or Walking: The Greenway along the Canal de Garonne is perfect for a family bike ride or stroll. Rent a bike or walk to discover the small locks and enjoy the peaceful, tree-lined paths.
- Nature Observation: Take advantage of the natural spaces around the nautical base to observe birds and other wildlife that live near the water.

- Auberge des Bastides (5 min drive)
- A friendly spot offering local delicacies to enjoy after your kayaking adventure. You’ll find traditional dishes in a warm, welcoming setting.

Easy Parking:
No need to worry about parking! The Fontet Nautical Base has free parking spaces available. There’s also a large nearby parking area to accommodate all visitors.

- Visit the Fontet Abbey, located just a few minutes from the nautical base, for a dive into local history and architecture.
- Local markets, in La Réole or Meilhan, where you can discover regional products and take home a delicious souvenir from your visit.

On the day of your booking, you will receive a code via email and SMS. Arrive at your KAYAKOMAT and unlock your gear. Inside you’ll find everything you need: PFD, paddles and sprayskirts. If it’s your first time out on the water, make sure you double check our safety tips.
Time to paddle!
Now you’re ready to go! Enjoy your time out on the water, and be sure to tag us @kayakomat on social media. When your rental time is finished, return your equipment, check that everything is clean and lock it back up.
