Self-Service Kayak & SUP Rentals
Welcome to the first KAYAKOMAT station in the Oslo area.
The station is located on the lawn outside Quality Hotel Expo at Fornebu, directly across the road from Unity Arena.
Fornebu offers beautiful coastal scenery, green parks and easy access to the Oslo Fjord, making it an ideal place for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, there are great opportunities to explore the area from the water.
Beginners can stay close to shore and enjoy calm waters along the coastline. More experienced paddlers can explore the coast towards Snarøya, visit small islands and bays, or take longer trips into the inner Oslo Fjord on calm days.
Kayaking is a fantastic alternative to experiencing Fornebu on foot or by bike. With KAYAKOMAT, you can book, unlock and access your equipment digitally whenever it suits you.
Practical information
We recommend using the trolleys available at the station if the equipment feels heavy. The most convenient route to the water with the trolley is asphalt route alongside the hotel and then on the grass by Fornebu Hovedgård, from there following the path to the right down to a small beach. Rolling the equipment along this route is much more comforable than using the shortcut.
The shortcut to the water is best suited if you prefer carrying the equipment.

On the day of your booking, you will receive a code via email and SMS. Arrive at your KAYAKOMAT and unlock your gear. Inside you’ll find everything you need: PFD, paddles and sprayskirts. If it’s your first time out on the water, make sure you double check our safety tips.
Time to paddle!
Now you’re ready to go! Enjoy your time out on the water, and be sure to tag us @kayakomat on social media. When your rental time is finished, return your equipment, check that everything is clean and lock it back up.
