You get around to a handful of islands in the bay of Västerås without much effort:

• At Östra Holmen you have access to a beach, jumping tower, toilets and café
• On Elba there is also a swimming beach, toilets and a café
• On Västra Holmen it is quieter and, if lucky, you can have the entire island to yourself with a barbecue area, rest area and picnic area
• If you paddle past Lögastrand, you can make a stop and buy some ice cream
• Next to Lögastrand is Östra Hamnen where hundreds of leisure boats are moored

Practical information:

• Paid parking is available at First Camp Mälaren, then you walk about 200 meters down to Johannisberg's Brygga
• Launching from the bridge or bathing beach
• Close to the station is a restaurant, small shop, minigolf, beach and toilets

Distance from Västerås C:

Bus: 8 min take #22 towards Örtagården or #23 towards Tidö Lindö, get off at stop Lövudden.

Car: 8 min, 6 km

Bike: 20 min, 5.6 km

Walking: 60 min, 5.6 km
