Local tips:

• Launch your the Kayak or SUP at the floating dock below the Kammerateriet Beachbar. It is fairly easy to get in here and there are handles on the floating dock, which makes it easier to get in and out of the SUP and the kayak.
• Paddle through the harbour, along the quay, or along the coast, perhaps further out to Christiansminde and the isle Thurø or via Tåsinge to Troense and on to Valdemar Castle.
• In calm weather, you can paddle across the Sound to Tåsinge, around Skansen to Vindeby, to the Svendborgsundbroen, cross back over via the harbour, inside Frederiksø back to the starting point. A fantastic trip that is both close to the city and very scenic!
• Along the way on your SUP or in a Kayak, you can stock up, for example in Troense at Storms Hjørne, in Vindeby Ishus, Færgevej Ishus at Svendborg Marina or at the starting point at Fiskebar, Bogholderiet or at the Kammerateriet. In the summer, the Gelato Italiea ice cream truck stops at Svendborg Harbour, where it is possible to come up by the wooden dock at Bendixen Fiskhandel to pick up an ice cream!

Practical information:

• There are plenty of parking spaces at KAYAKOMAT Frederiksø Svendborg. However, please pay attention to the parking ruels and payment.
• There are public toilets next to the Bar Kammerateriet.
• Please be aware that Svendborgsund is trafficked with both sailors, motor boats as well as the Ærø- and Hjortø ferries and the vintage ferry Helge.
• Please be aware map on site about the ferries' sailing routes and docks, so that you avoid these, and do not paddle into their routes and areas.
• The fairway for big ships throughout Svendborgsund is always crossed together and perpendicular and it is important to orientate yourself that there is enough space and the timing is right to cross the fairway.
• Always remember to keep to the right (starboard) when you want to pass another vessel!
