Rent kayaks at Sundsbron, Ellenö in Dalsland. Enjoy a day on Lake Ellenösjön (to the west) or Lake Östersjön (to the east). Lake Östersjön is wilder, with beavers present and sea eagles nesting in the tall trees on the eastern shore of the lake. There are wind shelters with barbecue areas in the south and a nice swimming spot on the northern shore of Lake Östersjön. A narrow strait on the eastern side of Lake Östersjön is very beautiful. Tips for your paddling on Lake Östersjön or Lake Ellenösjön:

• You can take a shorter trip to the swimming area on the lake Östersjön, 1 km along the northern shore. There are also wind shelters with barbecue areas along the southern shore of the lake, 1 km if you paddle across the strait under the bridge.
• Paddle around Lake Östersjön, about 12 km, 4-5 hours if you take time to swim & have a snack. Just before the strait in the eastern part of the lake there’s a sunny little island to have a snack on.
• Ellenösjön is known for its excellent perch fishing, don’t forget your fishing license!
• For those who want to paddle a longer trip, continue west and paddle along the winding Valboån river to Viksjön, 10 km one way. A shallower passage may require you to get out of the kayak. Sandals are recommended. On summer evenings, there’s a chance to see beavers in Lake Östersjön & Valboån if you paddle quietly...
• Paddle the old log driving route. From the eastern shore of the Lake Östersjön, west through Lake Östersjön, Ellenösjön, Valboån, Viksjön, Munkedalsån to Kaserna, 25 km one way. Several wind shelters are available along the way. Call Daniel at least 24 hours in advance if you want to book transport back.

• Bus stop Kink and a 5-minute walk downhill to the beach.
• Toilet facilities are available at the parking area.
