Local tips for paddling in Kungälv
- Begin your paddling tour by rounding Tjuvholmen and Fästningsholmen. This is an easier tour that suits most people while also giving you a new perspective on Kungälv and Bohus fortress. We estimate that this trip takes about 1.5 – 2 hours
- For longer trips, we recommend paddling south towards the sea. Many sights on the way to the sea, for example Munkholmen, Ragnhildsholmens castle ruins and Sankt Halvards church ruins
- Paddling downstream towards the sea is faster and easier than paddling upstream to the north. This is good to know when planning your paddling trip
- Visit Älvsmagasinet, opposite KAYAKOMAT (Västra Strandgatan 2)! Here you can enjoy both lunch, dinner and a drink in a relaxed environment near the river

- Parking is available next to the Kayakomat on Västra Strandgatan
- 15 minutes walking from Kungälvs travel center. The nearest bus stop is Kexbageriet
- You can launch the kayaks in the river next to the KAYAKOMAT
- There is a current in the river. We suggest that you stay close to land if you paddle through Bohus bridge and Fars Hatt. Here it can be a little extra current
