Paddlers with more experience can on a calm day paddle to Waxholm between the islands and enjoy an ice cream at their famous ice cream bar. Those of you who are more used to kayaking can also easily make your way up the canal and, via a short lift past the lock, continue paddling all the way up to Garnsviken, which offers wonderful nature experiences. Tips for your paddling in Åkersberga
- Paddle Sup or Kayak up or down the canal suitable for the whole family, simple paddling.
- Paddle out to Österåker havsbad, have an ice cream or lunch at the Solbrännan restaurant, easy Paddling close to land, about 2h.
- Pack lunch and paddle up the canal, all the way to Garnsviken, here there is lovely nature to stop and eat a packed lunch about 6 hours.
- If you want a full-day excursion, you can easily paddle out of the channel and glide around among islands, stop for lunch or grill your dinner on one of the many rocks.
Practical information on KAYAKOMAT Åkersberga centrum
- You will find the rental station 5 minutes walk from the center of Åkersberga with good connections by both train and bus that will quickly take you to Stockholm City, there is also a large parking lot nearby.
- Launching is easy via floating jetties approximately 20m from the Kayak station.
- The canal can be busy with slow moving boats, always be careful if you paddle out to the fairway.
